About Michelle
"Hello, pleased to meet you. I am an abstractionist painter working mostly on canvas and linen with acrylics, oils and pastels. I create to express what I can not say with words and to feel connected to the impulse of composition. Hopefully my paintings make you as happy as I feel when I am creating."

I have been painting and making things always. My dad supplied me with endless paper and pencils and paints. He encouraged me by teaching me how to use oil paints and pastels. My mother is also a talented seamstress and from her I learned to keep trying until you know your piece is perfect. I owe my creative upbringing in muggy Texas surrounded by my vibrant Spanish family for cultivating a love of composing colorful art. I live a simple life with my beautiful daughter and (very handsome) husband in Atlanta where I am surrounded by artists and makers of every description. I feel very fortunate to live in the south where the people are truly as friendly as you have heard and the pace of life is just a bit slower.
I have a graduate degree in Graphic Design from the Portfolio Center here in Atlanta. After school I was thrilled to land my dream job working at Landor in New York. After a short time though I realized that I needed more spontaneous creativity in my life so I began creating intricate oil paintings in the evenings and weekends. Soon those paintings began to sell and gain attention and once we moved back to Atlanta I began to work full time as an artist.
My studio is located in Decatur, Georgia. I would love to meet you, and you can come visit by contacting me and making an appointment. The very best way to keep up with new work, or shows is to follow me on instagram, or my blog. Also, don't forget to sign up to my newsletter!
I am very fortunate to collaborate with many beautiful galleries in the US. Currently my work is being shown here:
