About Michelle

"Hello, pleased to meet you. I am an abstractionist painter working mostly on canvas and linen with acrylics, oils and pastels. I create to express what I can not say with words and to feel connected to the impulse of composition. Hopefully my paintings make you as happy as I feel when I am creating."

My artistic journey began with a creative childhood shaped by my painter father and seamstress mother. Their eager supply of paper, pencils, and paints, coupled with their patient encouragement, instilled in me the importance of perseverance in honing my craft. Growing up immersed in the vibrant atmosphere of my Spanish family and the muggy Texas climate, my love for composing colorful art blossomed.

Today, I find solace in a simple life with my daughter and husband, surrounded by a diverse community of artists and creators in Atlanta, GA. The genuine warmth of the people and the leisurely pace of life in the South resonate deeply with me, evoking a profound sense of gratitude.

Having attained a graduate degree in Graphic Design from the Portfolio Center in Atlanta, I initially achieved my dream job in New York. However, I soon realized the need for more spontaneity in my creative pursuits. Thus, I dedicated my evenings and weekends to crafting intricate oil and acrylic paintings. As the recognition and demand for my artwork grew, I made the decision to embrace a full-time career as an artist upon returning to Atlanta. Now, I gladly share my decades of experience as a working artist by teaching classes and inviting people into my cozy backyard studio for workshops.

I am very fortunate to collaborate with many beautiful galleries in the US. Currently my work is being shown here:

Sea Contemporary Art Space

The Gregg Irby Gallery

Stellers Gallery Ponte Vedra
