"The Knower and The Known are One..." is a quote from Meister Eckhart (who's other famous quotes inspired the name for this series of paintings "Trust the Magic") 

This piece was created by first making a waterscape or pool style painting that involves a precise mixture of pigments and pouring over the canvas to create pools of color and shapes that evolve half naturally, and half intentionally. After that I applied bold graphic shapes and lines over top because I like the tension between the softness of the pool and the jumbled up, layered and stacked feel of the shapes.
